Hello and welcome to Limestone Cleaning Chicago by Douglas Simons. I have been refinishing limestone for 30 plus years and use many different techniques depending on what the circumstances are. Limestone cleaning Chicago can consist of removing different types of contaminants from the stone.

First, Mold and mildew, these by far are the most common and honestly the easiest to clean. You see limestone if very porous which is a great breeding ground for mold and mildew. However, it also makes it easy to clean if you get it in time.

Second: Not so common carbon crusting. Carbon crusting is seen mostly in areas where the limestone never sees rain water, or only a limited amount of water to rinse the stone. For instance,  under a crown, in ornate artwork, Etc. In truth,  it can actually can be found anywhere, just more likely to be found in those places..

Limestone Cleaning Continued

You see with all of the pollutants from buses, cars, trains, planes, factories Etc, there happens to be a lot of carbon in Chicago especially because of the dense population of these polluters.
